The Vinyl Vault: July 28, 2020

Hello, listeners!  This week brought all sorts of insanity, good and bad, to The Vinyl Vault.  I'm not sure about you but sometimes insane weeks really inspire me to get creative with my time and pull things together that I never expected to achieve.

I'm really loving some of the new sounds that have been making their way into the more recent playlists which has really been an outcome of some serious musical exploration for me as of late.  One of the pitfalls that can occur when beginning to amass a record collection is that you fall into collecting the music that you already know and love missing some nuggets of music that would make your heart sing.  My favorites are still being harvested out of the record bins but I've been making a concerted effort to expand and experiment with new music and the rewards are tremendous.  I really encourage you to never stop discovering both new "new music" but also try your hand at archaeology and dig up some new "old music."

New additions to The Vinyl Vault this week come from two of my curated subscription memberships: Mississippi Community Supported Recordings and Third Man Records Vault.  From Mississippi Records I received Freedom For The Stallion: American Soul Music 1952 - 1976, The World Is A Cafeteria: American Soul Music (and one song from Ghana) 1955 - 1998, and a self-titled album from Brother Theotis Taylor.  From the Third Man Records Vault membership, I received Vault Package #44: The White Stripes Accompaniment to De Stijl.  All of it is amazing.
