Assistant Manager Trainee Wanted

Crooked Beat is looking for an assistant manager trainee. Person must be flexible, self-motivated, have a strong and focused work ethic, positive mental attitude, and a working knowledge of music genres dating back 50 years. DC-based knowledge is a major plus.

Availability:
Candidate can expect to work 22-25 hours a week which will include 3 weekdays and at least one weekend day every week. Store hours are between 12pm and 7pm and we are open every day except Tuesdays.

Skills & Disposition:

Running numerous tasks of running an independent record store as needed. Having the initiative to dependably stay self-directed, organized, and prioritize daily tasks, including:

Dependalbly alphabetize and sort records according to artist and genre
Clean, barcode and sleeve records
Accurately check-in new and used inventory using Filemaker Pro
Break down boxes, sweep and clean the store
Post timely updates to social media and CrookedBeat.com
Effectively communicate with customers, employees and distributors

Cooked Beat has been around close to 30 years and are a vinyl go-to place for people from all over the world. This is largely because we pride ourselves in being passionate and knowledgeable about music genres of Punk, Alternative, New Wave/Power Pop, Classic Rock, Soul/R&B from 1950's-1980's, Reggae/Ska 1960-80's, Blues/Folk, and Classic Jazz.

The ideal candidate will share this same passion and knowledge for music and vinyl records so we will be extremely selective for who we hire for this position. Expect to be tested about your general music and vinyl knowldege before hiring. If you are organized, flexible, reliable, hard-working, and willing to learn and more about music and the industry works, this job could be yours.
